Rio De Janeiro is set between the mountains and the sea and is the second largest city in Brazil. It has stunning tropical landscape,is full of vibrant colours with a laid back beach vibe. It is also home to one of the biggest Carnival parties in the world! I was lucky enough to experience it on the last stop of my south american trip…..
Every year a GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association of Ireland) Club in co.Kerry Ireland hosts a walk called the Dingle Way Challenge. It’s a full days hike and it takes you around some of the most beautiful parts of Dingle and the surrounding areas.
Paraty is a colonial town on Brazil’s Costa Verde between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, first settled by the Portuguese with cobbled streets and buildings dating back to the 17th and 18th century. Paraty is a little slice of heaven and definitely needs to be on your list of places to visit if you are going to Brazil!
My first stop in Brazil was the amazing city of São Paulo, which is the largest city in Brazil and also South America with a population of 12 million people! It is an incredible city that is bursting with life and activity. Some areas are not all pretty looking and there is a lot of street art but it has an exciting feel to it and the people are so friendly that it is impossible not to love it!I fell in love with it anyway!
I’ve said it before but Argentina is one of the most beautiful countries I’ve been to. I felt so at home in South America while I was there and would recommend to everyone to put it on their travel list! Iguazú Falls were my last stop in Argentina and the falls are VERY impressive with beautiful trails and look out points so you can view the sheer power and awesomeness of the falls…
I couldn’t travel all the way to south america without taking in some of its amazing nature. This one was a pretty tricky one to organise though. I couldn’t find a huge amount of info from this side of the world but ended up organising it when I got there!
Here are some bits I’m hoping to pick up for my hols this summer, as you can see I’m loving the off the shoulder style.I also really love play suits and jump suits. They are so comfy and you can dress them up with heels for evening wear or wear flats with them for day wear depending. These are all from my wish list on Shein, I get a lot of holiday clothes from here as they are really affordable and decent quality. This also leaves more money for me to use on hols!
Bus travel is a very big business in Argentina and I did quite a few different routes while I was there. They varied hugely from company to company and also from route to route. I travelled with bus companies called Rio Uruguay, Crucero Del Norte and Rapido Tata.
This was possibly the most beautiful place in Argentina that I visited! El Calafate is in the southern edge of Patagonian Ice Fields and I used it as a base like most do for visiting Perito Moreno Glacier and Los Glaciares National Park.It looks like a ski village with timber buildings and has a lovely relaxed vibe. If you take a walk to the edge of town you can see flamingos and other types of birds.
Firstly it’s great to be back home after living out of suitcase for the last while but I am really really missing south America. I didn’t expect to love it so much but it has me hooked! I only got to visit Argentina and Brazil but I am already thinking of returning for a longer trip to visit more countries. It has a vibrancy that can’t be beaten and a real sense of freedom, there is colour everywhere, music and a real sense of live in the moment.
