Cellulite Facts & Removal tips!


We all want to look amazing  when we hit the beach for the summer so cellulite will not make that happen! Here are some facts on the dreaded orange peel and some tips to help get rid of it…….

~ There are different types of cellulite –  Adipose cellulite is firm, orange peel effect on loose skin, Oedematous  cellulite is fluid retention, soft cellulite often on loose skin and Fibrotic cellulite is hard, compact cellulite with orange peel effect

~ 95 per cent of women have a type of cellulite and that includes women of a really slim build

~Cellulite forms when connective tissue is weakened by hormones, lack of exercise and muscle tone.

So how do we reduce cellulite….

Firstly you need to increase your metabolism and the circulation in the area with exercise. Some of the best exercises include swimming, brisk walking and running.  Exercises such as lunges  and squats or other strength baring exercises will also help.You can also help increase the circulation by body brushing  and massage. Always work towards the heart.

Anti cellulite creams can help, but ensure they contain ingredients such as Centella asiatica, Ginkgo biloba or methyl nicotinate. Also apply them after you have increased the circulation  in the area with exercise or body brushing as this will allow the cream to be better absorbed. It’s important to remember that creams will only improve the appearance of the skin but alone they won’t get rid of the cellulite.

Diet plays a big part, reduce the amount of refined, processed and artificial foods. If your diet is high in products that contain sugar, additives  and chemicals then it will add to the add to the orange peel. You need be drinking enough water, at least 2 litres a day and more if you are sweating and losing fluids. If you are finding it hard to drink enough water then eating watermelon which contains 92% water might be easier. Other foods that you should try to include are pineapple, blueberries, spinach and brazil nuts.
